Bonnie & Clyde

The first time I saw Bonnie & Clyde I was way too young to be watching it. I'm not kidding. I was really young. It made a HUGE impression on me. I don't think I had EVER seen violence at all, much less the excessive violence shown at the end of the movie. I remember crying because I couldn't understand why they kept shooting them when they were already dead. (Where were my parents? Why was I watching this? LOL) I was just a little girl and like all little girls I liked that big girl, Bonnie, because I thought she was so pretty. To this day, I love this movie in a different way but I still remember how I "felt" watching it as a little girl. I will admit, I've never big a huge Faye Dunaway fan, but she really was gorgeous in this movie and I LOVED Bonnie's style. Even as a kid, I knew I loved "the way she looked" in this movie. I know I'm not the only one. How many of us have made our boyfriends or husbands dress as Clyde so we could go as Bonnie for Halloween?

I'm sure by now you've heard about the remake. I hate remakes. Not to mention Hillary Duff is playing Bonnie Parker. Die hard fans and Faye Dunaway are not happy about this at all. I will say one thing about Hillary...she has grown up to be a beautiful girl and she is a dead ringer for Faye at that age. Now whether she has the skills to pull off a movie like this remains to be seen. I'm kinda thinking she should have just done a Bonnie photoshoot and left the acting to someone else. Oh well, maybe she'll surprise us. We'll see.

Here's a little more Bonnie & Clyde inspiration:

Oh, J Crew.....

....why do you do this to us? Why do you make us want these clothes when we don't have unlimited funds for them? Why do you make us look at these outfits when we don't look like these young skinny models? Oh, J Crew.

Lunch Atop a Skyscraper

I love this image. It was taken during the construction of Rockefeller Center in 1932 by Charles C. Ebbets. I actually bought this poster a few months ago with the intention of framing it for my dining room. It took me forever to find a frame for it. I wanted a nice chunky wood frame. I finally found a frame that I like but then my husband came home with some vintage moulding. You know what that means, right?

My daughter and I named each of these fellows. From left to right we have: Charlie, Bud, Sam, George, Frankie, Joey, Jack, Earl, Henry, Floyd, and Fred.

Small & Rugged in Texas

I just love this house designed by Ginger Barber. It is simple and beautiful. The owners use it for a weekend getaway. I don't know about you but I want to live here everyday.
